Data captured by writing on digital paper can be sent securely anywhere in the world via the Internet. The digital pen reads the Anoto paper pattern, which is unique to each customer, and routes the data to your organisation via the PaperIQ On Demand platform or for client licensing PaperIQ Server, directly to your own network.

Once you have licensed your digital paper pattern it is fast and easy to enable and print any business form with the underlying Anoto pattern. If required, our form designers can recommend changes to your form design to optimise them for digital paper and no special paper is required making the production of digital paper forms low cost.

We understand that most organisations trial any new technology before approving wider adoption. Because of the simplicity and relative low cost of digital pen and paper technology piloting is very straightforward and PaperIQ On Demand provides user reports for pilot metrics.

Data captured by the pen and transmitted over the Internet is encrypted to one of the highest standards available and as the pen only stores data for only the “pen strokes”, the information is virtually meaningless without the underlying document as a reference.

For organisations wishing to avoid routing over the Internet, the pen can be directly docked with a computer so that data can be kept within internal networks and systems.

The PaperIQ platform stores a digital image of the original written form, so this can be kept efficiently by an organisation for auditing and reference purposes.

PaperIQ On Demand now provides clients with the option to add biometric signature authentication, which allows a digital pen user’s signature to be uniquely identified. Verification of signature can then be used to create powerful workflows within an organisation. A digitally signed Adobe PDF version of a completed form may also be generated and distributed automatically, providing a legally-acceptable electronic copy of the original form.

The PaperIQ platform can be deployed in two ways;

1. PaperIQ On Demand is a hosted service. Pen data is sent to the PaperIQ platform where the document data is converted into an mutually agreeable XML schema. This data can then be automatically transmitted via https, ftp or web services for real-time integration with your enterprise systems.
    
2. PaperIQ Server. This will be available shortly and will give clients the option to license the PaperIQ platform and host it in their own data centre behind the corporate firewall.
